Application
Marine cables are designed for use in fixed wiring on ships and offshore platforms and drilling rigs, especially
used where life may be endangered by smoke and noxious fumes, and where sensitive equipment may be
damaged by acid forming gases.

Construction
Conductors:Stranded class 2 tinned annealed copper conductors to BS 6360/IEC 60228.
Conductor Screen :Semi-conductive tape or an extruded layer of semi-conductive compound
Insulation:EPR complying with BS7655 GP4
Insulation Screen :Semi-conductive tape or an extruded layer of semi-conductive compound
Metallic Screen :Copper Tape
Bedding:CSP – SW2 or EVA - SW4 compound complying with BS 7655.
Armour:Tinned phosphor bronze wire braid to BS2873-PB102 (now BS EN 12166)
Outer Sheath :CSP – SW2 or EVA - SW4 compound complying with BS 7655.
